With summer coming to an end (insert tears), Aloha Atlanta took over Zoo Atlanta for an end of the summer luau for the zoo's members. It was a fun-filled late summer afternoon complete with a Flamingo stilt walker, games & activities for the kids, educational tours, an erupting volcano, and of course - hula dancers with Aloha Atlanta. Check out highlights below from Zoo Atlanta and other Aloha Atlanta shenanigans from the club to the church. And be sure to LIKE or SHARE on Facebook or Twitter. Mahalo!

Tuesday Night, Bridging the Music presented the Georgia Solo Artist Music Awards at Smith’s Olde Bar. With local artists, and a range of others traveling in from areas from the likes of Chicago, South Carolina, and Venezuela - I headed out to support friend to Stella Nation, Jonathon Robins, who’s new single Here for You is scheduled to be released September 1st. Robins hit the stage 2nd to a packed house of supportive fans, and rocked the house. And over the course of the night, there was myriad of artists to hit the stage from a raspy, young singer hitting the stage for the first time – only to have the house on its feet – to the seasoned pros of Jamerican Jah, who’s grassroots reggae sound had everyone grooving and vibing the night away. Check out a few of the highlights below. And be sure to LIKE or SHARE on Facebook or Twitter. It's the music lovers’ thing to do. :)

We'll be the first to tell ya - we like to rock out on occasion. And to feed the beast, we recently attended the invitation only screening of American Dirtbags. Held at the longest running theatre in the city, Plaza Theatre - it was a night of rock-n-roll, beatnicks, and shenanigans. Scheduled to hit the film festival circuit next year, American Dirtbags is a film by Bob Place, and features cameo appearances from Donnell Rawlings, Jim Florentine, Jen Kirkman, Laurie Kilmartin, and Amber Nash. And combined with performances from a ton of local comedians - it's a wild 90 minute ride, so hang on to your seat. Check out the trailer below. And be sure to LIKE or SHARE on Facebook or Twitter. All the dirtbags are doing it. :)

You know how the story goes. You’re in a rush to get to work, so you grab whatever you can - or just skip breakfast all together. Lunch rolls around and you eat the first readily available option – if you eat at all. The beauty of Atlanta is that in a constantly revolving city filled with new construction, high rises, and a bustling nightlife - all one has to do is take is one step off-the-beaten-path to find one of the city's hidden jewels. And today's stop is Dr. Bombay's Underwater Tea Party. Tucked away from the nearby little city of Bohemia - okay - the area known as Little Five Points - sits Dr. Bombay's. Filled with worn books, quirky knick-knacks, and an extensive selection of teas, this quaint little gem is a breath of fresh air from the nonstop pace of the city. At any given time you might find a group of shabby chic ladies enjoying a cup of tea, a couple of hipster-gents catching up on work, or a giggling bunch of little ones lining up for a scoop of ice cream. It's neighborhood charm is almost palpable. Check out the pics below for a peek inside. And be sure to LIKE or SHARE on Facebook or Twitter. It's the neighborly thing to do. :)

Ah…the endless days of summer. Days filled with cookouts, beach trips, lounging by the pool, and sipping Mai Tai’s. Aside from it being the season of Aloha Atlanta, the summer is our favorite time of the year. With parties for a host of celebrations from Summer Weddings, Graduations, Reunions, and Patriotic Holidays – practically any occasion is an occasion worthy of the outdoor luau. We’ve produced our seasonal act, Aloha Atlanta for nine years now. And if we had a penny for every time we played impromptu DJ – well let’s just say we’d be lounging poolside indefinitely. So we thought it was high time we created your Ultimate Tiki/Luau Party Playlist. With a combination of Hawaiian, Tahitian, Island, and even Rockabilly tunes – we gotcha covered. Are you ready? Take a listen below. And be sure to LIKE or SHARE on Facebook or Twitter. Mahalo!
