So take a moment, and check out the tips below using every day items you probably already have lying around. If you find any of the tips helpful, be sure to LIKE or SHARE on Facebook or Twitter! It’s the first step to hacking your wardrobe. :)
1. HAIRSPRAY:
There’s nothing like the feeling of knowing you just ruined your last pair of tights or pantyhose running out the door. While clear nail polish is great for stopping runs, you can also prevent a run from happening in the first place with hairspray. Just give them a quick spray before heading out the door. And be sure to pay extra attention to the areas that are prone to runs.
2. BABY WIPES:
Another morning obstacle to getting out the door? Discovering deodorant marks on your clothes. The next time you spot deodorant marks on your clothing, try removing it with a baby wipe. Just pat the deodorant spots firmly with the baby wipes until they’re gone. Be sure to only try this one on dark clothes.
3. VODKA:
When you’re a a professional performer, cleaning delicate costumes can be quite tricky. And so can removing odors from those beloved yoga pants. But if you have a bottle of vodka near by, you’re in luck. Make sure to use vodka only, so you don’t dilute the alcohol’s odor removing power. Just aim for a light misting. As you spray your clothing, the vodka absorbs the odorants clinging to the fabrics. Just try not to wet the fabric thoroughly.
4. VINEGAR:
If you don’t have a bottle of vodka within reach, you can also use vinegar. Add a ½ cup of white vinegar with the detergent when you wash your clothes to neutralize any odors. This will do wonders for gym or yoga clothes. For extra tough odors, you can also presoak your fabrics in 1 cup of white vinegar and cold water before laundering as usual.
5. SAFETY PINS:
In show business, we have an expression, “Make it work.” Sometimes you’re just in a rush and don’t have time to fiddle with accessories. If you’re getting ready for a wedding or red carpet event only to discover your necklace isn’t hanging right, just string a couple of safety pins to the fastener of your necklace, and you’ve got an instant necklace extension! This also works great in a pinch if the clasp of your necklace happens to break.
